CDRWIN
Below are some example instructions for backing up your playstation games.
Instructions for using CDRWin
to make PSX backups
1.
Insert a
blank CD-R in your writer and the original Playstation CD in your reader.
2.
Start CDRWin
and from the main menu select the Backup Disk option.
3.
A new window
will appear in which you must change the settings, as follows
4.
Backup Mode
: 'Copy to Image and Record'
-
Choose the image file
location (for a full CD you will need about 650MB) and
- Choose the CD-Recorder/CD-Reader from the drop-down menu's
5.
From the Reading Options
: - Set 'Copy...' to Raw sectors
6.
Set 'Error Recovery' to Ignore
; - this is important !
7.
Set 'Jitter Correction' and 'Subcode Analysis' on Auto
- Set 'Read Retry Count' at
about 10
- Set 'Data Speed' and 'Audio
Speed' on 1X, if the process succeeds and your backup works the next time you
can experiment with higher setting. But be careful, reading at high speeds may
cause errors and produce a non-working backup.
8.
From the Recording Options
: - Set 'Speed' to 1x, for the first time
When everything is reading, click on 'Start' and the process will begin. First a 'image file' will be made, then this image file will be burned to your blank CD-R.Consider that the copy process takes considerable time when you make the image file at 1 speed and also write at 1 speed. So grab a beer and go watch some TV :)
